Christina Dunphy of Wades Pharmacy, on Main St, Gorey was the worthy winner of the Gorey Chambers Outstanding Staff Member Award for August.
With business in Gorey coming under the spotlight of our mystery judge and potentially receiving contact in the month of August the mystery judge noted that the winner “Was extremely helpful, accommodating and gave me a great deal of her time. Christina put the customer at ease straight away with her warm personality and friendly nature”.
Speaking of the initiative Gorey Chamber CEO Dick White commented: “The focus is on presenting the best possible face of a business to our customers. We value all who do business with us and we are encouraging every business to ensure that everyone is given the best possible service. The Outstanding Staff Member Award puts the focus attention on it. Congratulations to Christina on winning”
Previous winners have included Niamh Kelly of Mrs Bees Healthy Options, Ann O’Leary of The Book Café, Deirdre Waldron of Dees Lingerie, Glen McGuigan of The Cosy Cottage Café and Eimear Prendergast of Pettitts Supervalu.
This was the sixth cycle of Gorey Chambers quarterly award programme, with the judge finding that 85% of businesses were above the average while 15 % of those judged did not meet the standard. With 15% getting the highest mark possible and another 38% of those judged scoring more than 90 marks this was a particularly good month. Some of the positive comments noted were “very nice warm welcome”, “Excellent”, “Nice and relaxing” while negative notes such as “Very uncomfortable” were taken in others.
