North Wexford Business Community honour Sean Stafford.

Gorey Chamber in conjunction with AIB Gorey initiated a new business award for 2016 with the AIB North Wexford Outstanding Contribution to Business Award. 

The inaugural recipient was chosen as Sean Stafford snr. 

Sean attended the presentation lunch at the Rowan Tree where Jim Hughes , President of Gorey Chamber gave an address to those in attendance.

Speaking for everyone in Business Hughes stated " Sean Stafford has created a brand based on delivering quality from his first business in Gorey 60 years ago right up today. He has been an icon for many and has been one of my heroes since I first became interested in business"   

Sean Stafford was presented with a piece of specially designed leaded glass, created by Biance De Vito and sourced from Market House Design on the Main St in Gorey. 

Replying, Sean thanked his family for their support over the years and stated that "Without them I couldn't have achieved anything"

Keith Groarke was on handed to represent AIB Gorey at the function in addition to some of Seans family including his son and daughter, Sean and Una and their partners as well as friends and business contacts.

Seans life began in Wexford town and to this day his accent is distinctly one synonymous with the town but his business, social and sporting links have extended much further afield in which he is held in the highest regard. 

Speaking afterwards, Jim Hughes added  "Now employing in excess of 300 people at their base in Clonattin and in Gorey, Arklow and Wexford , Staffords Bakeries are a major force in the country and none of this would have been possible without Sean Stafford and is simply why he received this Outstanding Contribution to Business"
