Place Placed First!

It was a difficult decision for our mystery judge in this year’s Christmas Window Competition sponsored by South East Radio.

From the top of the town and on all the business streets, this year’s festive windows were judged to be the best ever, and set a real marker for future years and participants.

South East Radio very kindly sponsored this year’s event and with an expert artistic judge at our disposal, this year’s winner was Place of Esmonde Street.

Our judge commented,”Its contemporary minimalist design is of the highest order.”

Congratulations to Julian Walters and all the staff at Place! 

A number of other eye catching displays were worthy of mention with Funge’s Of Gorey, Mrs. Bee’s, Donelans Opticians and Gorey Property Lettings.

Attention should be brought to the wonderful shop front the new owners, Redmond Brothers, have created on Main Street on the old Bolacreen Restaurant.

Speaking today, Dick White of Gorey Chamber commented “Gorey is always worth a visit, but to look at the Christmas windows. We are delighted with the level of participation and hope that the public enjoys the spectacle."
