Educate to Innovate School Business Awards
“The aim is to stimulate enterprise and encourage entrepreneurial activity in young people”.
Initially a joint venture with Gorey Community School, Innovate and Gorey Chamber – the Launch of the Innovate School Business Awards took place on Tuesday 24th January 2012.
Now in it’s sixth year, the Educate to Innovate School Business Awards have expanded to include Gorey Community School, Creagh College, FCJ Bunclody and Colaiste Bhride Carnew among its competing Schools. We have also sought to increase our range in recent years with schools in South Wicklow also competing. This year we are delighted to include CBS Arklow and Gaelcholaiste na Mara Arklow in our panel of competitors.
Jim Hughes from Innovate said: “We believe in supporting our community and in encouraging our young people in a way that will benefit our economy. This is our first venture in this area and we are delighted to work with Gorey Chamber.”
Speaking, Dick White, CEO of Gorey Chamber said “We are delighted to be involved in such a Project, it encourages entrepreneurship and gives young people a real taste of business. We are particularly fortunate to have a strong panel of Mentors to work with the students and their projects.”
Students will work on their projects until May when they will present their ideas to a panel of judges, with the best idea winning the Educate to Innovate School Business Awards.
